About the Centre
Between 2002 and 2009, Urban Studies hosted the Scottish Centre for Research on Social Justice, with a mission is to promote better understanding of, and more informed debate about, the nature of social justice in Scotland, particularly in relation to public policy. The SCRSJ was established by the Universities of Glasgow and Aberdeen, with its initial funding from the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council and with Professors Robina Goodlad and Mark Shucksmith as co-directors. From January 2006, the Centre was based wholly within the Department of Urban Studies and directed by Professor Kenneth Gibb. Although the Centre has now completed its work, its various publications can still be downloaded from these pages.
