Women's Refuges in Scotland: current and future provision

Women's refuges are an established form of provision for women and children fleeing domestic violence but the network of refuges has grown in an unplanned way. This project was commissioned by the Scottish Executive, working in collaboration with Women's Aid, to investigate women and children's experiences, preferences and priorities in relation to women's refuges; to assess the level and standard of refuge accommodation currently provided by Women's Aid groups in Scotland; and to produce an 'audit tool' to be used in future to assess the level and standard of refuge accommodation in Scotland.
